This past weekend, the sunny shores of Fire Island Pines played host to a fabulous pool party fundraiser organized by Stonewall Quarter Share, the spirited division of young donors within the Stonewall Community Foundation. Their chosen beneficiary for this event was none other than The Black and Brown Equity Coalition of Fire Island (BaBEC), and what a success it turned out to be!

The event was filled with laughter, dancing, and a shared sense of community, all for a cause that resonates with so many. The vibrant crowd gathered at the sparkling pool, sipping on colorful cocktails, enjoying the live beats of Daniro, and basking in the joyful atmosphere. Everyone also enjoyed a rousing performance by the current reigning Mx. Juneteenth Fire Island, La’Nece Onassis.

The generosity of the attendees was palpable, with a remarkable $5,200 raised! And the best part? Every single dollar of the proceeds will go directly to BaBEC, aiding us in our ongoing mission to advocate for BIPOC LGBTQ+ equity in Fire Island Pines and Cherry Grove.

Tomik Dash, the President of BaBEC, expressed immense gratitude: "This event not only raised funds but also awareness. It was an amazing opportunity to get a ton of new eyes on our organization and we’re excited to continue our work with the support of accomplices like Stonewall Quarter Share."

A heartfelt thank you to Stonewall Quarter Share, all the attendees, and everyone who made this event a splashing success! Your contributions are a step towards a more equitable, inclusive, and loving community.
